Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Ideafex ("Ideafex", "we", "us") is operated by Amdose LTD. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Ideafex apps (web, iOS, Android), the Ideafex desktop app for macOS and Windows, the Ideafex browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, and related services, and how we use it. 2. Data we collect

• Account data: email address, name, and sign-in identifiers. We use Clerk for authentication, including Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple.
• Your content: ideas, links you save, uploaded files, and folders. Where a link points to media or an article, we fetch its metadata, thumbnail, text and transcript so you can search and read it in Ideafex.
• Captures you choose to save from the desktop app or browser extension: the selected text, the page URL and title of the page you save, area or visible-page screenshots, image, video and audio links, and files you select. The extension reads the current page URL and title only when you save, and only with your action.
• Local data on your device: a small upload queue (so a capture can finish when you are offline) and your sign-in tokens. The desktop app keeps tokens in your operating system keychain. The extension keeps its queue and tokens in the browser's extension storage.
• Purchase data: subscription status and identifiers from Apple App Store, Google Play (via RevenueCat) and Paddle. We never see or store your card number.
• Usage and device data: product analytics events, app and device information, and session replay from PostHog. Text inputs and idea text are masked in replays.
• Push notification tokens, handled by OneSignal, if you allow notifications.

3. How we use data

• To provide, secure and improve Ideafex, including syncing your content across devices.
• To save your captures from the desktop app and the browser extension into your Ideafex account, and to keep you signed in there. The desktop app also checks for app updates.
• To process subscriptions and unlock Pro features.
• To send service messages and, if you allow them, push notifications.
• To understand how the product is used and fix problems.
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. AI and MCP access

Ideafex can expose your content to AI assistants through MCP. This only happens when you start it and connect an assistant yourself. The assistant you choose is responsible for how it handles data you share with it.

5. Desktop app and browser extension

• Data leaves your device only when you save a capture.
• Captures go only to your Ideafex account, through api.ideafex.si and the presigned storage URLs it gives for uploads. They are not shared with anyone else.
• We do not sell this data. The browser extension contains no analytics and does not load or run remote code.
• The desktop app signs you in through your system browser using Clerk (OAuth). The global shortcuts, screenshots, quick notes and the "Add to Ideafex" action on files you select are used only to create the capture you asked for.
• The extension's browser permissions (storage, context menus, active tab, scripting, alarms and identity sign-in) are used only for these purposes.
• You can delete captured items in the Ideafex app, and you can delete your account (see Retention and deletion).

6. Where data is stored and who processes it

We use the following service providers to run Ideafex: Vercel (hosting), a managed Postgres database, S3-compatible object storage for uploads and thumbnails, a Linode-hosted worker that fetches link media and transcripts, Clerk (authentication), RevenueCat, Paddle (merchant of record for web payments), Apple and Google (store payments), PostHog (analytics and session replay) and OneSignal (push notifications). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and may operate in countries outside your own.

7. No selling, no ad tracking

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use advertising trackers and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, so we do not use App Tracking Transparency.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app under Settings. Deleting your account deletes your data and cancels any web (Paddle) subscription. Subscriptions bought through Apple or Google must be cancelled in the respective store. Some data may remain briefly in backups or where we must keep it by law.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To make a request, email support@ideafex.si and we will respond within a reasonable time.

10. Children

Ideafex is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards such as encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
